Arnold Gardiner
Although he has been painting for most of his life, he has only been able to paint full time since retiring from the civil service.
He has painted throughout Ireland and around the Mediterranean, producing bold watercolours with individual composition.
Although he studies and admires the work of a number of Northern Ireland artists, his style is very much his own.
As well as landscapes Gardiner likes to paint buildings and industrial scenes. The Ulster Museum acquired a series of paintings and sketches made during work on Lagan Weir and cross harbour bridges. The Department of the Environment (N.I.) has also acquired paintings of a similar nature.
