Edith McClelland
Born in Ballymoney, County Antrim, Edith enjoyed all aspects of creative art from an early age, receiving her first commission at the age of twelve. A career in computer administration and management, based in the Middle East, did not allow much scope to pursue this passion although she did make time to participate in a few exhibitions and worked numerous commissions. Having returned home to Ballycastle a number of years ago, she now works on a professional level, painting mainly seascapes and landscapes in oil and watercolour. While Edith's strength lies in detailed pencil work and even though she utilizes all mediums, the wonderful unpredictability of watercolour is, by far, her main obsession. As a self taught artist, Edith believes the learning process should be ongoing and she continuously strives to attain a deeper understanding of all the mediums in order to achieve greater expression through her work.
