Marie Woods
Marie comes from the Pomeroy area, Co. Tyrone. As a child she enjoyed painting and drawing, and chose to develop this interest further when at school. She attended Belfast Art College, graduating with an honours degree in art and design in 1983.
She is currently working part time, teaching art to disabled adults. Working part time allows her to paint and exhibit her own work locally, and carry out commissions. She works in oil and watercolour.
As a member of Moneymore Art Group she exhibits her work annually. Her work is show throughout the province too.
Her paintings reflect the rural Ireland and are inspired by memories of country farming life. Her enjoyment in the use of colour and light is evident in her work which is constantly evolving and developing.
